Before You Rent
A Few Things To Consider Before You Rent A Dumpster
Before you rent your dumpster from Waste - Services & Transports, there are a few important things you need to consider. Please review this section carefully.
1. You want to have a good idea of how much waste your project will generate.
Estimating the approximate amount of waste from your project will help you determine the size of the dumpster that you need. To do this, take a visual inspection of the waste you expect to produce, and jot the approximate cubic feet of each item on a note pad as you go along. Then, add up your items to come up with your final estimate. All of our dumpsters are sized by the cubic yard. A cubic yard is equal to 27 cubic feet. If, for example, you arrive at 750 cubic feet of waste, then you'll want to rent our 30 cubic yard dumpster. If you are unsure or need assistance with your estimate, please feel free to give us a call at (888) 536-2116 and one of our waste removal experts will assist you.
2. You want to keep different waste types separate.
Local laws prohibit mixed use dumpsters, requiring multiple dumpsters for certain projects. Common waste types include household items, construction debris and natural debris. A good example of a situation in which two separate dumpsters are required is a project such as a pool shed, in which waste includes both natural waste (dirt, rocks, brush, etc) and construction waste (drywall, cement, shingles, treated lumber, etc).
3. Determine where you want to place your dumpster.
When you rent a dumpster, it's important to determine where you want it placed in advance of delivery. You need to consider how you will get the waste into the dumpster. Avoid making extra work for yourself by planning to place the dumpster in the most convenient location to your project. This may be in your driveway, in the street or even in your yard.
4. Determine how long you'll need your dumpster.
Every dumpster from Waste - Services & Transports comes with a full seven days of use. We've found that a week is usually enough time for our customers' needs. However, there are certain instances when more time is needed. Waste - Services & Transports conveniently offers per diem rental service following the initial week. When renting the dumpster from our web site, you can easily add as many days as necessary to your initial week, all for a great rate. If you find you need more time after you've rented, you can always call us to extend the terms of your rental.
5. Check with your city to find out if you need a permit.
Some municipalities will require that you get a dumpster permit when your dumpster is placed on public property such as a street. Usually, if you already have a building permit, a separate dumpster permit is not required. However, in advance of renting a dumpster and regardless of your situation, we advise that you check with your city to avoid the possibility being fined for not requesting a permit. Waste - Services & Transports is not responsible for any fines associated with the placement of our dumpsters.reach, it won't be of much use. However, some taller containers allow access through a drop-down door at one end.
